This shot was captured again with a remote camera on a tripod. It also involved a lot of luck and several racers to nail the shot. But that is the beauty of shooting events with a remote camera. I concentrated on the safe shots with my handheld camera while I let my remote camera create art. This way I don’t have to stress about missing a big moment because I was trying to do something artsy. I used Pocket Wizard Plus III‘s to trigger my camera.
To get my shutter speed down to 1/10 of a second I used a neutral density filter. A must of any outdoor photographer in my opinion. It allows of an extended range for creative shots.
