Cam Riley, from Colorado is one of the top urban skiers out there right now. Last year he swung up to Ottawa for an urban mission, and as with many skiers found paradise at the Archives.
About the shot:
One problem that seams to always come up when shooting urban skiing is the mess of leafless trees. It can be very distracting when behind the skier in the photo. It lead me to choose this angle as it was one of the cleanest I could find. I also wanted to include the entire stair case to show the size of it. It does lead to a bit of confusion where Cam goes at the close out but leaving the viewer with more questions than answers often creates a more interesting photograph. And if you are wondering, he wall rides out at the close out. Pretty nuts.
